A HEARTY WELCOME TO TROOP 229. As a scout you will have many new experiences. In addition to the green and yellow of our uniform you will experience the challenges of the outdoors and the spirit of brotherhood that has kept our troop going for a long time.
Founded in 1959, our troop continues as a part of the Selden community. Previously sponsored by Saint Margaret's Church, as of January, 2007 we are sponsored by the Hibernian Hall in Selden. We continue to be part of the Benjamin Tallmadge District, Suffolk County Council.
To make this troop an annual quality award troop the troop meets on Monday evenings from 7:15 PM to 8:45 PM at the Hibernian Hall @ 79 Magnolia Drive, Selden, NY 11784. When dropping off your scout make sure at least two adult from Troop are present before leaving.
2-3 times a year we host a "Court of Honor". It is a ceremony where we invite parents, grandparents and siblings to witness the accomplishments of the scouts. In addition to receiving the recognition of awards earned, the boys put on skits for a fun evening. Refreshments are served afterwards.
